The client had already made the change from a costly on premise analog PBX to a cloud provider, research was conducted into alternative solutions. Numerous proprietary and Open Source alternatives were identified that could provide substantial savings. Ultimately an Open Source solution was selected and implemented which preserved the investment already made in existing desktop appliances. The net result was a 73% reduction in monthly telephony costs plus full control of their phone system.
Working with a multi site management organization, a bandwidth needs analysis was was completed indicating over sized internet access was installed in most locations. Vendor and transmission changes (from Fiber to Coax) in some locations and simple bandwidth changes in others, resulted in a 81% reduction in their monthly Internet fees. There was no perceived change from any user.
